Former Monmouth field hockey standout Alex Carroll returns for her third year on the sidelines, her first as a full-time assistant after two years of volunteering. Carroll, a defender by trade, will work with the defensive corps with focus on the goalkeepers.
Carroll’s responsibilities also include practice planning and execution, travel preparation, scouting and compliance. Aside from in-game coaching and practices, Carroll is responsible for evaluating potential student-athletes and monitoring academic progress.
Carroll, who was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive and Player of the Year in 2013, was tabbed to the All-MAAC First Team after finishing second on the team with 25 points. She became the third Hawk in program history to earn conference player of the year honors, while becoming the program’s first defensive player of the year in the inaugural year of MAAC Field Hockey. The Oceanport, N.J. native, who was named to the 2013 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Mid-Atlantic Second, finished her career top five all-time in Monmouth history in goals (31), assists (20) and points (82).
