BEFORE MONMOUTH: Sardo was a three-sport athlete in lacrosse, basketball and football at Westlake High School. He played five years of varsity lacrosse, earned three varsity letters on the gridiron and played one season of varsity basketball and was given the Westlake High School Outstanding Performer Award in football and lacrosse. Westlake’s all-time leading scorer with 330 career points (229 goals, 101 assists), Sardo was a five-time All-League selection. A two-time team captain, he was a three-year All-Section honoree and earned the Con Edison Scholar-Athlete Award. In football, Sardo collected a number of awards, including All-State, All-Section, All-League (2x), MSG Varsity All-Section I First-Team and All-Hudson Valley Second Team, a Journal News All-Star and Section I Class B Offensive Player of the Year. During Sardo’s junior year, Westlake won its first ever League Championship in lacrosse and as a senior, Westlake won its first football Sectional Title in 32 years and first Regional Title ever. An Honor Roll Student, Sardo participated in Service Club, SAAD Club and Austism Speaks Club.
