Monmouth University men’s lacrosse attack Bryce Wasserman
(Southlake, TX / Grapevine Faith) has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, it was announced Monday afternoon.
Wasserman led Monmouth with six points as the Hawks won both of their games this past week and extended their winning streak to seven. After he scored twice and assisted on two other goals against VMI, Wasserman netted two goals against Detroit Mercy, including the game winner, to extend his scoring streak to 11 games. The 11-8 win over the Titans helped Monmouth improve to 4-0 in the MAAC for the first time in program history. Wasserman added three ground balls in the two games and caused one turnover to help the Hawks improve to 10-3 overall.
Wasserman leads Monmouth with 31 points on the season, on the strength of 20 goals and 11 assists. He is second in Monmouth history with 84 career points, including 56 goals and 28 assists, in 37 career games.
Monmouth continues MAAC play on Friday when it hosts Canisius on Senior Night at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App.
