FIELD HOCKEY COMPETES IN SECOND EXHIBITION GAME
LEIDEN, HOLLAND– In its second game of its foreign tour, the Monmouth University field hockey team fell to LOHC 4-1, Thursday evening. LOHC plays in the first division in Holland and entered the playoffs in first place.
Julie Laszlo, the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Year scored the lone goal for the Blue and White on one of four attacking corners. Georgia Garden Bachop inserted the corner which was stick-stopped by All-MAAC First Team honoree Meg Donahue to set up Laszlo's blast at the top of the circle. MAAC Goalkeeper of the Year Christen Piersanti and the defensive unit recorded three saves.
During its 10-day excursion, Monmouth will tour Rotterdam, Kinderdjik Windmills, Hague, Scheveningen, and Amsterdam, while visiting Anne Frank's House and taking in a Premier Field Hockey League playoff match. When in Italy, the Hawks will explore Vatican City, with stops inside the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Square, and all of Rome's best sites.
The Hawks' final exhibition contest will be on Friday.
