NOTES AND QUOTES

“I think we were really patient with our offense in the second half. We took care of the ball a whole lot better. It’s huge to start off this stretch of conference game with a win. Any time you play a conference game, you have to try to really protect your home court, so I was really happy we were able to do that. Marist is a good test for us because it’s a team that is never going to quit.” – Monmouth head coach Jenny Palmateer

“We had a defensive mindset coming out, and we did what we needed to do which transitioned into our offense. This one was important because we lost our first two conference games. Marist is a very good team so we were really excited to protect our home court.” – Sophomore guard McKinzee Barker

-Monmouth fell behind 19-15 after the first quarter, but stormed back in the second quarter as it outscored Marist 25-12 in the frame and took a 40-31 lead into halftime.
