FRISCO, Texas – Monmouth University bowling senior Kaitlyn Reth (Baltimore, MD / Overlea [Baltimore Co. CC]) and Stephen F. Austin’s Stephanie Schwartz were named Co-Bowlers of the Month for February, the Southland Bowling League announced Wednesday.
Southland Bowlers of the Month are voted on by each school’s sports information directors and voting for one’s own bowler is not permitted.
Reth placed first overall out of 82 competitors at the James Brown Invitational, registering a 212.2 traditional scoring average en route to All-Tournament and MVP honors. Reth also posted a 20.359 individual scoring average per frame through 256 frames in February.
As anchor, Reth ranked third among conference bowlers with a 10th frame fill percentage of 92.7 percent (41 tenth frames).
To date in the 2016-17 season, Reth ranks ninth in the league with a 20.169 individual overall scoring average (971 frames).
All eight Southland teams will next meet at Smyrna Bowling Center in Nashville, Tenn. for the Columbia 300 Music City Classic from March 17-19. This will be the final regular season match-up for all league members before the 2017 Southland Bowling League Championship in Jonesboro, Ark. on March 24-26.
