MONMOUTH ATHLETICS ANNOUNCES SPRING ESPN3 SCHEDULE
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Athletics has announced that 23 games have been chosen to air on ESPN3 this spring, including seven softball games, six baseball games, six women’s lacrosse contests and four men’s lacrosse matchups.
The slate opens with five lacrosse contests, three women’s and two men’s, starting with a women’s contest on March 1 against Drexel. Head Coach Eileen Ghent’s squad also takes on Delaware and Towson during March, and return to ESPN3 three more times in MAAC play when they host Marist, Canisius and Manhattan after competing in the MAAC Finals last season.
MU’s men’s lacrosse team debuts on a broadcast on Wednesday, March 15 against VMI before battling Siena in a home league game on March 25. In his fourth year guiding the program, Brian Fisher’s team will take on Canisius and Manhattan on consecutive April Friday’s on ESPN3.
Off a MAAC championship round appearance, Monmouth softball will play seven times on ESPN3 this spring, opening with a doubleheader vs. Quinnipiac on April 9 and an in-state matchup two days later vs. Princeton. A pair of doubleheaders, one with Iona and one with Delaware, wrap up softball’s television slate this season.
MU baseball will air six times this year at home, including the first conference weekend in West Long Branch against Quinnipiac, followed by a meeting with in-state foe Rutgers on March 28. A Friday afternoon game with Marist precedes the Niagara series in which all three games will be shown on ESPN3.
