Manhattan Jaspers (8-20, 4-15 MAAC) - 50

RIVERDALE, NY – On a night where freshman Kayla Shaw broke the single-season program record for three-pointers made in a season, the Monmouth University basketball team dominated Manhattan and never trailed in a 63-50 win. With 51 seconds remaining in the first half, Shaw buried her historic 81st triple of the season, and led the Hawks by the end of the night with 18 points on 5-8 shooting beyond the arc. With a Canisius loss at Quinnipiac tomorrow and a Monmouth win on Sunday, the Hawks will secure the seven seed in the MAAC Championships, set to begin on Thursday, March 2.

“It was a great team win tonight. We just played them so we felt like we were able to get this one on the road. I thought our team played very well on the defensive end today and kept our heads. Not everything went well, but we kept a positive attitude and had a great energy about us, which helped us come out with the win.” -  Monmouth head coach Jenny Palmateer
