DRAKE FERRITER NAMED MAAC GOLFER OF THE WEEK
EDISON, NJ – Monmouth University sophomore Drake Ferriter (Ramsey, NJ/Bergan Catholic) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Golfer of the Week, league officials announced on Wednesday. The second-year Hawk, who earns his first league honor, led the team for the second consecutive tournament as he inked 152 at the Coca-Cola Lafayette Invitational last weekend.
Ferriter recorded back-to-back rounds of 76 to land 22nd out of 108 competitors at the event. The sophomore, who recorded 22 even holes and three birdies over the 36-hole event, helped the Hawks climb five spots on the team leaderboard en route to a sixth place finish, the highest result of the six total MAAC schools at the tournament. Ferriter now has 15 rounds in the 70s this season and has led the Hawks’ card on four different occasions.
Ferriter and the Hawks return to action Monday, April 10th when they tee off in La Salle’s Finegan Invitational. The 36-hole event will be played at Whitemarsh Country Club in Lafayette Hills, PA.
