October 23-24, 2016; Two Rounds (36-holes)
Host: Lehigh
Location: Bethlehem, PA
Course: Saucon Valley Country Club
Course Vitals: 6,012-yard, par-72 course

BETHLEHEM, PA – Sophomore Haley Goodling (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) and junior Faith Garcia (Stamford, CT/Staples) both finished in the top-10 to lead the Monmouth University women’s golf team to a third place finish out of nine at the Lehigh Invitational. The Hawks, who finished three spots higher than they did a year ago at the event, shot 326 and 323 to finish the 36-hole tournament with 649.

Goodling fired back-to-back rounds of 78 to finish with a share of fourth place overall with 156, while Garcia carded a team-low 76 in the second round, five shots better than her opening round score, to finish one stroke behind Goodling in 10th. Junior Sarah Kokotajlo (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) and freshman Nicole Totland (Tinton Falls, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) both registered 168, while junior Kaitlin Clancy (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) inked 85 and 87 to round out the Hawks’ card. Playing as an individual, junior Erin DiDonato (Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) compiled rounds of 81 and 79 to finish with a piece of 15th overall.

“I am really pleased with our performance. I thought we played really well despite the high winds and tough conditions. We also shot better in the second round, which we haven’t done in a while. Haley played well to almost finish tied for first and Faith did a good job rounding out the top-10. The team finishing third in a very competitive field was pretty spectacular.” – Head Coach Susan DeKalb

- The third place finish is the highest result of the year for the Blue and White.
- MU finishes in front of the two other MAAC schools in the event (Siena, Niagara).
- Goodling, who duplicated back-to-back rounds of 78 for the second-straight year at the tournament, records her first top-five of her career.
- Goodling’s 156 matches her career best for a 36-hole event, set last year at Lehigh.
- Garcia finished six spots higher on the individual leaderboard than in 2015.
- Totland made her debut on the Hawks’ card.
