BETHLEHEM, PA – Sophomore Haley Goodling (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) and junior Faith Garcia (Stamford, CT/Staples) both finished in the top-10 to lead the Monmouth University women’s golf team to a third place finish out of nine at the Lehigh Invitational. Goodling fired back-to-back rounds of 78 to finish with a share of fourth place overall with 156, while Garcia carded a team-low 76 in the second round, five shots better than her opening round score, to finish one stroke behind Goodling in 10th. Junior Sarah Kokotajlo (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) and freshman Nicole Totland (Tinton Falls, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) both registered 168, while junior Kaitlin Clancy (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) inked 85 and 87 to round out the Hawks’ card. Playing as an individual, junior Erin DiDonato (Hammonton, NJ/Hammonton) compiled rounds of 81 and 79 to finish with a piece of 15th overall.
NOTES & QUOTES
“I am really pleased with our performance. I thought we played really well despite the high winds and tough conditions. We also shot better in the second round, which we haven’t done in a while. Haley played well to almost finish tied for first and Faith did a good job rounding out the top-10. The team finishing third in a very competitive field was pretty spectacular.” – Head Coach Susan DeKalb
