CERASO EARNS BACK TO BACK MAAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS
WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ- Monmouth freshman Nicole Ceraso (Massapequa, NY/Plainedge) has been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week, league officials announced on Monday.
The freshman continued her torrid start on the lacrosse field, leading the Hawks in scoring against Temple and Rutgers. Ceraso posted 12 points, including three goals in each contest against the Big East and B1G opponents. In Wednesday’s game against the Owls, the Massapequa, NY native had three goals and four assists for a total of seven points. In Saturday’s one-goal loss to in-state rival Rutgers, Ceraso scored three goals and assisted on two others.
All nine of the shots Ceraso took over the week were on-goal, while the freshman committed just one turnover over the two games. She currently leads Monmouth in goals (10), assists (10) and points (20). The Plainedge High School product currently leads the league in points per game and assists per game.
Ceraso and the Hawks will play their first home game of the year on Wednesday night when Bucknell comes to Hesse Field.
